These are not normal times. We need someone now, more than ever, who can stand up to Donald Trump and Republican extremists. Angie has defended our rights and fought Trump’s attacks on our democracy by always doing what is right: voting to impeach him not once, but twice. We need a fighter like Angie in the Senate who will: support the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act so everyone’s voice can be heard; stand up to attacks on the rule of law; work to restore Roe v. Wade, so every woman’s fundamental freedoms are protected; pass meaningful legislation that will help preserve our air and water so future generations can thrive. Angie is ready on day one to shake up the Senate and get things done. 

With threats to the LGBTQ+ community on the rise, Angie supports building a country where everyone can live with dignity and respect. For the first three years of her son’s life, Angie faced legal battles, with a judge even writing that having two moms was not in the “best interests” of any child. But Angie fought like hell – and won that case – setting a legal precedent to help more LGBTQ+ parents secure the right to have a family. 

Angie also believes that we must uphold the rule of law and ensure people receive due process. Like most Minnesotans, she knows we need an immigration system that protects our borders and rewards those who work hard, pay taxes or serve in the military – because she understands that immigration is critical to our country’s economic prosperity. Angie is fighting to pass comprehensive immigration reform that creates a legal immigration system and asylum processes that are fast, fair, and final and provides a pathway to citizenship for DREAMers.
