Rep. Angie Craig Statement on Second District Republican Primary Election Results

EAGAN, MN – Today, U.S. Representative Angie Craig released the following statement on the results of the Republican primary election in the race for Minnesota’s Second District:

“I am running to represent Minnesota’s Second District because this is my home. The people who live here are my friends, my neighbors, the parents I attended teacher conferences with.

“I know these folks. They value their freedoms and independence. That’s a value I share deeply – and a value that has driven my work in Congress.

“But my opponent, Joe Teirab, is a guy who recently moved to the district because he saw a political opportunity. He’s a guy who has spent months doing anything to win the support of Washington Republicans. And he’s a guy who has made it his life’s mission to take away reproductive freedoms from families and give those decisions to politicians.

“That’s not valuing independence, that’s not valuing freedom. That’s party loyalty – and that’s not what this district is about.

“Over the next few months, I look forward to listening to Minnesotans, talking about my bipartisan record in Congress and working hard to earn their support on November 5th.

“And Joe, I’ll see you on the debate stage.”
