Minnesotans Discuss Joe Teirab’s Anti-LGBTQ+ Record in Latest Round of Angie Craig Ads

EAGAN, MN – Today, the Angie Craig for Congress campaign launched ads titled “Quintin” and “Torey.”

The ads feature two Minnesotan young men who were each raised by two moms. Quintin and Torey talk about how their moms have shaped them into the men they are today.

They also discuss how they feel after learning that Joe Teirab sits on the board of New Life Family Services, an organization that opposes gay marriage and same-sex adoption – and the impact that has on families like theirs.

“In 2024, in Minnesota, everyone should be allowed to love whoever they want and build a life with whoever they want. But my opponent, Joe Teirab, helps lead an organization that is trying to dictate who is worthy of building a life with the person they love – and who isn’t. That’s not freedom, that’s not independence and that’s not what this district is about,” said Rep. Craig.

New Life Family Services is a crisis pregnancy center that promotes “abortion pill reversals” and offers forgiveness for women who have had an abortion. The center also provides adoption services to Minnesotans. However, the center only allows married, heterosexual couples to adopt – listing the below among adoption criteria:

Applicants are married for at least two years and able to verify marriage. (New Life Adoptions holds to the following Biblical sexual ethic: Marriage is between one man and one woman.)

Additionally, New Life Family services is a religious affiliate of Transform Minnesota. Transform Minnesota requires that all volunteers and employees of its affiliate organizations abide by their statement of values on “human sexuality,” which declares that marriage is “between a man and a woman.”

“Quintin” transcript:

“I’m Angie Craig and I approve this message.

“The best thing that ever happened to me was my parents, I wouldn’t be the man I am today without them.

“So when I hear about someone like Joe Teirab, it hurts, it’s hateful and it’s personal.

“Teirab helps lead an organization that opposes gay marriage, just like my moms’, and opposes adoption for families like ours.

“We need to move forward, not backwards.

“Joe Teirab doesn’t respect us and doesn’t get Minnesota. He should never represent us in Congress.”

“Torey” can be watched here.

“Torey” transcript:

“My parents mean everything to me.

“So when I hear about Joe Teirab helping lead an organization that opposes gay marriage and opposes adoption for families like ours, it’s hateful and backwards.

“Joe Teirab should go back to the Stone Ages.”
