Hastings Mother Shares Heartbreaking Story of Losing Her Son, Devin, to Fentanyl Poisoning in New Ad

EAGAN, MN – Today, the Angie Craig for Congress campaign released their latest ad: “Bridgette.”

Bridgette Norring shares the story of her son, Devin, who died at age 19 from a fentanyl poisoning. Devin purchased what he thought was a Percocet from a drug dealer on Snapchat to help him deal with blackout migraines – the pill was 100% fentanyl.

Rep. Craig and Bridgette have worked together on several efforts to protect Minnesota communities from fentanyl and educate Minnesotans on the drug’s dangers. In July, Rep. Craig introduced the Cooper Davis and Devin Norring Act to hold social media companies accountable for any illicit drug trafficking happening on their platform.

“Devin should be here with Bridgette and her family today. We have to do more to protect our communities from the dangers of fentanyl: hold bad actors accountable, secure the southern border and educate Minnesotans on what this illicit drug can do. It’s an honor to do that work alongside Bridgette, her husband Tom, and advocates across our community,” said Rep. Craig.

Earlier this year, Rep. Craig’s bipartisan END FENTANYL Act was signed into law to help stop the flow of fentanyl from entering the United States. Last year, Rep. Craig led a bipartisan group of her colleagues in pushing the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to approve the over-the-counter sale of Narcan, a commonly used overdose reversal drug and has traveled to the Southern border herself.
