Minnesota Family Shares Health Insurance Struggle in New Angie Craig Ad

Rep. Craig helped fix the ACA “Family Glitch” after hearing the Krueger family’s story

Burnsville, MN – Minnesota native Allie Krueger detailed how Rep. Angie Craig helped her young family’s health insurance struggles in a new ad, “The Kruegers.”

Krueger called Rep. Craig’s office for help when her family was facing insurance premiums that cost more than 25% of their household income because of a flaw in the Affordable Care Act known as the Family Glitch.

Rep. Craig brought the Krueger family’s story all the way to the White House. President Biden took action to fix the Family Glitch in April, a move that will lower health care costs for an estimated 62,000 Minnesotans and five million Americans.

“When Allie Krueger called my office for help, I promised that we would do everything we could to help her family – and that’s exactly what we did,” said Rep. Craig. “Serving my constituents and helping to solve their problems is my most important job, and I’ll never give up on Minnesotans.”

“The Kruegers” transcript:

“It’s been a struggle to make ends meet.

So when a so-called ‘Family Glitch’ was going to unfairly charge our family tens of thousands a year on health care, it was devastating.

We completely fell through the cracks of bureaucracy.

Some even suggested we get a divorce to fix it.

Listen, that is not a glitch, that would have bankrupted us.

So Angie Craig stepped in and never gave up.

She didn’t worry about who got the credit.

She fixed the problem for me and so many Minnesota families.

She is relentless.”

“I’m Angie Craig and I approve this message.”
