U.S. Chamber of Commerce Endorses Angie Craig

Craig’s bipartisan record of championing small businesses earns the support of the nation’s largest business organization

Today, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce endorsed Angie Craig’s campaign in Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District, citing her bipartisan record of pro-growth and pro-small business policies. As a former executive at a major Minnesota manufacturer, Angie has the real-world business and leadership experience to help rebuild Minnesota’s economy following the COVID-19 pandemic. The Chamber’s endorsement builds on an emerging pattern of support for commonsense, workhorse members who have demonstrated a willingness to work with both parties to help to create jobs and economic growth.

Earlier this year, Craig was awarded with the Chamber’s “Spirit of Enterprise” award, in recognition of her strong, bipartisan record of championing small businesses.

“I’m honored to receive the support of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, who will continue to serve as an important ally in our efforts to support small businesses in Minnesota and rebuild an economy that works for everyone,” said Representative Craig. “It’s a privilege to be recognized for my hard work on behalf of the Minnesotans whose small businesses serve as the heart and economic engine of our communities.”

Before her time in Congress, Craig led a workforce of 16,000 for a major Minnesota manufacturer. In Congress, she has used that experience to create economic opportunity for Minnesotans across the Second District. Last year, Craig was one of the key Freshman Democrats to break ranks with her party leadership and demand that the United States-Mexico-Canada trade agreement be brought to the floor for a vote where it passed and was signed into law. The President also signed Craig’s second bipartisan bill into law, extending the Paycheck Protection Program for an additional five weeks, which extended the window for Minnesota small businesses to receive economic relief from the federal government following pandemic-related shutdowns.

Since entering office, Craig has invited local business owners from the Second District to testify in front of Congress and convened owners of small restaurants and breweries who were impacted by COVID-19 for a listening tour on how best to support the business community during these difficult economic times.
