Burnsville, MN – During a press conference this week, when asked who won the 2020 presidential election, Tyler Kistner refused to answer the question directly, instead reciting talking points used by election deniers nationwide.

“There is no arguing that Joe Biden is the president when you go to the grocery store or the gas station,” Kistner said at his Monday press conference.

When pressed by reporters, Kistner avoided the question again, saying “President Biden is in the White House,” before campaign consultant Billy Grant stepped in and abruptly ended the press conference.

“He’s been very clear on this, this is a ridiculous question,” Grant said

Kistner appeared on two lawsuits disrupting the 2020 election in MN-02 including a lawsuit to overturn the election results, citing specific, albeit unfounded, issues with Dakota County’s results. Kistner was recently listed as an election denier by the Washington Post and CNN

Other Republican candidates like Marjorie Taylor Greene have used similarly calculated statements when asked who won the 2020 election. When pressed during a debate this week, Greene said, “Joe Biden is the President,” before detailing “proof” of election fraud.

Since last year, GOP candidates who challenged the results of the 2020 election nationwide have resisted admitting that Biden won.
