Representative Angie Craig Joins Bipartisan Working Group in Congress

Voice of Alexandria – 3/18/21

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Angie Craig announced that she has joined the Bipartisan Working Group, an organization of Republican and Democratic Members of Congress who are dedicated to working together to advance bipartisan legislation and foster dialogue between both sides of the aisle.

“I ran for Congress to listen to everyone and work to find areas of common ground that can move our communities forward. Reaching across the aisle to work with members of both parties is incredibly important to me – because I believe Washington can only truly work for the American people when we attempt to work together,” said Representative Craig. “I’m proud to have joined the Bipartisan Working Group where I hope to restore productive dialogue between our parties and find common sense solutions to the problems facing my constituents in Minnesota’s Second District and folks across the country. I’m thankful for the leadership of Representatives Kilmer, Barr, Rice and Gonzalez – and I look forward to our work together.”

“The Bipartisan Working Group is a group of Democrats and Republicans focused on reducing the partisan bickering and increasing the progress,” said Representative Derek Kilmer, Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Working Group. “I’m thrilled to have Rep. Craig join the ranks of the coalition because she embodies that problem solving spirit – and I look forward to working with her to help get our economy and our government working better for the American people.”

The Bipartisan Working Group, which was founded in 2011 and includes an even number of members from each party, typically meets every week that members are in session in Washington, DC. New participants can join by invitation only and must be agreed upon by members of both parties before inclusion.
