Despite pushback from Members on both sides of the aisle, Craig has led efforts to block Members of Congress from trading individual stocks
Burnsville, MN – Today, Rep. Angie Craig launched her fourth television ad of the 2022 cycle – “Off Road” – to highlight her efforts to clean up and reform Washington.
For too long, special interest groups have ruled Washington, DC. Since being elected, Rep. Craig has fought hard to change that status quo. She blocked pay raises for Members of Congress and is leading the effort to stop politicians from trading individual stocks. She also supports term limits for Members of Congress and wrote the HUMBLE Act to permanently ban Members of Congress from becoming lobbyists.
“Holding public office is a true honor. But I’ve seen far too many of my colleagues use their office as a stepping stone to a high-paying lobbying gig,” said Rep. Craig. “To me, that’s completely unacceptable. I’m doing everything in my power to hold my colleagues accountable and ensure that our elected officials are focused solely on their constituents, not their bottom lines. That’s what Minnesotans deserve.”
