Rep. Craig Demonstrates Why She Is the Best Choice to Represent Minnesota’s Second District

October 13, 2022

ROSEMOUNT, MN – Today, during the Dakota County Regional Chamber Debate, Rep. Angie Craig demonstrated that she has earned a third term in Congress representing Minnesota’s Second District.

Rep. Craig highlighted her commitment to lowering the cost of health care, protecting a woman’s right to choose and reducing costs for working families across the Second District. Rep. Craig drew a stark contrast between her and her opponent. While Rep. Craig stands up to special interests to achieve bipartisan results, her opponent has proven to be a rubber stamp for their hyper-partisan agenda.

“Today proved what we already knew: Angie Craig is the best representative for the Second District in Congress. It’s clear that Tyler Kistner will say whatever he needs to in order to get elected – his lack of integrity and independence goes against the values Minnesotans hold most dear. He doesn’t have what it takes to represent this district in Congress, and today’s debate was a glaring reminder of that fact,” said Angie Craig for Congress Campaign Manager Wellesley Daniels.

Rep. Craig has delivered for the Second District. Since she was first elected, she:

  • Ranked in the top 3% of bipartisan members of Congress.
  • Played an instrumental role in passing the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act to ensure Minnesota businesses could recover from the pandemic and secured federal resources to help them grow even more.
  • Helped pass the Inflation Reduction Act, which finally gives Medicare the power to negotiate prescription drug prices and caps the cost of insulin at $35 for Medicare recipients — legislation she drafted. The historic legislation will also invest in renewable energy technology to lower the cost of energy production for families and businesses.
  • Passed a bill to allow year-round sales of E15 for the first time with support from Democrats and Republicans, and has worked to expand access to homegrown biofuels.
  • Pushed the Biden Administration to pass an executive order that eliminated a gap in the Affordable Care Act that was unfairly charging families up to 25% of their income for health insurance.
  • Secured more than $100 million in federal funding for broadband expansion across the state of Minnesota.
  • Worked across the aisle for months to get the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law across the finish line to make long overdue upgrade roads, bridges, energy sources and broadband across rural Minnesota.
