MINNESOTA — U.S. Representative for Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District Angie Craig announced that she was recently named by the Nonpartisan Lugar Center’s annual study as being in the top 15 percent of the most bipartisan members of Congress.

Craig was ranked No. 65 out of 435 members of Congress, with over 80 percent of her introduced bills being bipartisan, she said.

“When I ran for Congress, I pledged to be an independent voice for all Minnesotans, regardless of their political affiliation and to seek to work across the aisle,” Craig said. “I’ve worked to live up to that promise by working with my colleagues across the ideological spectrum. I’m very pleased to be named among the top quartile of bipartisan among Members of Congress – and will continue to work with anyone and everyone to get the job done for Minnesota.”

The Nonpartisan Lugar Center was founded by former Republican U.S. Senator Richard G. Lugar, Craig said. The Center is a non-profit organization that strives to bridge ideological divides around different issues and advance bipartisan governance, Craig said.

The Center works with Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy each year to rank how often each member of Congress works together with members of other parties, according to Craig.
