This week, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig was presented with Growth Energy’s 2020 “Fueling Growth Award” for the second year in a row for her unwavering commitment and work on behalf of Minnesota’s biofuels sector and family farmers.

“Farmers in Minnesota’s Second Congressional District have fueled our communities for generations, and they are powering our future,” said Craig. “I’m honored to receive this recognition from Growth Energy. I’ll continue to fight to end the Administration’s practice of handing out secret so-called small refinery waivers and advance the future of biofuel innovation. Biofuels not only provide a stable market for our farmers, but they also help us drive down harmful carbon emissions to fight climate change and the extreme weather that results.”

“In her first term in Congress, Congresswoman Craig didn’t waste a minute before jumping into the fight to defend the integrity of the RFS and promote strong markets for Minnesota’s farmers and biofuel producers,” said Growth Energy CEO Emily Skor. “Our industry is incredibly fortunate to have such a vocal advocate on our side and we are proud to recognize her tireless efforts with this year’s Fueling Growth Award.”

Craig is a member of the House Agriculture Committee and the Congressional Biofuels Caucus. In her first term in Congress, she has made it a priority to push for policies that support our agriculture economy and bring more rural voices to the table.
