Mayors Across the Second Congressional District Endorse Rep. Angie Craig for Re-election to Congress

Mayors cite Rep. Craig’s bipartisan track record of results for the South Metro

Burnsville, MN – Today, six mayors from across the Second District endorsed Rep. Angie Craig for a third term in Congress. Mayors representing Minnesotans from across the political spectrum praised Rep Craig, who is ranked in the top 3% of bipartisan members of Congress by Common Ground Committee, for her tireless work for their communities.

“Over the past four years, I have made it a priority to work with elected leaders across the Second District to strengthen local infrastructure, grow the economy and improve public safety in our local communities. Working together, we have been able to accomplish a great deal for our constituents,” said Rep. Craig. “I am honored to receive these endorsements today and look forward to continuing to work together.”

The six mayors endorsing Rep. Craig for a third term in Congress are Cottage Grove Mayor Myron Bailey, St. Paul Park Mayor Sandi Dingle, former Zumbrota Mayor Brad Drenckhahn, Hastings Mayor Mary Fasbender, Eagan Mayor Mike Maguire and Savage Mayor Janet Williams.

“Representative Angie Craig has been a fantastic partner with the City of Cottage Grove and our citizens. She worked with us to apply for federal infrastructure dollars for a road project that will begin the commercial and residential development called the Shoppes at Cottage View. She has moved forward additional funding for the reconstruction of 80th Street in Cottage Grove. She makes a point to check in with me regularly to see how things are going in our city and see if she can be of assistance,” said Cottage Grove Mayor Myron Bailey. “She is a breath of fresh air in the world of politics, and I highly support her re-election to the House of Representatives! If we want action in Washington, we need Angie Craig there on our behalf.”

“It’s vital that we vote our values, so I’ll be voting for Representative Angie Craig who has represented the Minnesota Second Congressional District since 2019. Angie is an effective advocate for affordable health care for everyone and fighting to make career skills and technical training an option for everyone,” said St. Paul Park Mayor Sandi Dingle. “She devotes a significant amount of time and effort listening to constituents at Town Hall meetings throughout her district. She is passionate about her work and also thoughtful and compassionate about the issues that face us all. Her tenacity is exactly what is needed to get things done in Washington! Please join me in supporting the re-election of Representative Angie Craig – she has done great work, but she’s not done yet!”

“As a small town mayor it was easy to think we didn’t have a place on a bigger stage. Angie made us feel like Zumbrota mattered. She makes you feel like what matters to you matters to her and then she works to get results. I appreciate that she will work across the aisle to help her district. It’s a rare thing these days but it’s what we have to do if we want to see anything get done,” said former Zumbrota Mayor Brad Drenckhahn.

“Angie has always worked hard for our community and has been a great partner with the city of Hastings during her time in Congress. We need our representatives to show up for our community, and when Hastings is in need, Angie is there for us every time. I’m proud to endorse her for re-election this November,” said Hastings Mayor Mary Fasbender.

“Angie Craig is not a typical Washington politician. Instead, she remains focused on the bread-and-butter issues that matter to our families and our communities. From education and training for the jobs of the future to reducing healthcare and prescription drug costs – Angie Craig is working for all of us. As a Mayor, I’m particularly grateful for her leadership in support of local police and I’m proud to join with them in endorsing her for re-election,” said Eagan Mayor Mike Maguire.

“We can always count on Angie Craig for her support of Highway 13 projects and the Ports of Savage,” said Savage Mayor Janet Williams.
