ICYMI: Craig Campaign Launches Educators for Angie

As summer comes to a close and teachers and students prepare to return to classrooms, virtual learning or a mix of both all across Minnesota, U.S. Representative Angie Craig announced Educators for Angie – a group of endorsements from local teachers demonstrating her widespread support from educators in the Second Congressional District of Minnesota. In Congress, Angie has been a stalwart supporter of students and teachers alike – fighting to secure full funding for public schools, advocating for full support of Special Education programs in Minnesota and working to expand career skills and technical training opportunities for all students.

“As a mother of four sons, the wife of an educator and the daughter of a teacher, I know that you can never underestimate the power of a high-quality education,” said Rep. Craig. “And now, more than ever, it’s important to recognize the vital service that teachers provide each and every day for our communities. I’m incredibly proud to have the backing of educators in the Second District and committed to earning that support every day in Congress by continuing to serve as a strong ally of teachers, school administrators and students across the country.”

Angie has consistently voted to steer more federal dollars toward public education programs and opposed an effort by Education Secretary Betsy DeVos to direct COVID-19 relief away from public schools – which would have cost public schools in Minnesota more than $10 million in funding. Further, Angie has cosponsored legislation to save teachers’ hard-earned money by doubling the amount educators are able to deduct on their out-of-pocket expenses such as school supplies and books for their classrooms.
