Rep. Angie Craig has filed for re-election in Minnesota’s Second District in the U.S. House of Representatives, Craig’s campaign announced on Monday, May 18.

U.S. Marine Corps reserve officer Tyler Kistner of Prior Lake will be Craig’s main adversary in the November election after he won the GOP nod after the party’s virtual convention on Saturday, May 2.

Craig won her seat in 2018 by 5.6 percentage points, losing out on Belle Plaine and other parts of Scott County.

Craig has authored or co-sponsored over 400 bills, two thirds of which her campaign calls bipartisan. The Payment Integrity Information Act of 2019, which was signed into law in March, was one such piece of legislature.

Last fall the Republican National Convention zeroed in on Craig as a top target to unseat.

The Second District remains a swing district and is expected to be hotly contested.
