One of the authors of the Clean Fuels Deployment Act says the bill would pave the way for expanded access to biofuels.

Minnesota Congresswoman Angie Craig tells Brownfield she’s worked across the aisle to bring the legislation forward.

“One of the barriers we heard about to expansion of biofuels really has been the fuel pump infrastructure that can deliver those higher blends of ethanol and biodiesel.”

The bill would authorize $500 million over five years to help fund the installation and conversion of fuel pumps to deliver higher ethanol and biodiesel blends.

“It’s been a particularly difficult time for biofuels, and the Clean Fuels Deployment Act is a step toward helping our producers.”

Craig says the Act presents an opportunity for the Trump Administration to step up and help the biofuels industry now and in the future.

She introduced the bill along with fellow Democrat Abby Finkenauer of Iowa, and Republicans Don Bacon of Nebraska and Roger Marshall of Kansas.
