Angie Craig Statement on Newly Drawn Minnesota 2nd Congressional District

Burnsville, MN – Today, Representative Angie Craig released the following statement in response to the Minnesota Special Redistricting Panel’s congressional and legislative redistricting maps:

“I thank the redistricting panel for their hard work over these past months – and for their commitment to a nonpartisan and transparent process.

It is the honor of my life to represent Minnesota’s Second District in Congress. Now more than ever, Minnesotans need representatives who will strive to reach across the aisle to find common ground. We have work left to do to expand access to affordable health care, lower costs for working families and build a strong and resilient economy.

Today, I am proud to announce that I will seek re-election in Minnesota’s newly-drawn Second Congressional District – where I will officially be launching my campaign in the coming weeks.

While I am, of course, disappointed that the new boundaries do not include all of the cities and towns that I currently represent in Congress, I look forward to being the voice of several new communities across Minnesota. I look forward to earning voters’ support across the new MN-02 and ensuring that they have a voice in Washington who prioritizes them over special interests and works to find common ground.”
