In Unanimous Decision, Court of Appeals Confirms Election in Second Congressional District Will Occur on November 3rd

Earlier today, the Eight Circuit Court of Appeals rejected Tyler Kistner’s bid to delay the election until February

Today, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals denied a motion by Tyler Kistner that would have delayed the election in Minnesota’s Second Congressional District until February 2021. The Court’s unanimous ruling confirms that the election will move forward as part of the November general election – and that the winner of the race will be seated as part of the 117th Congress in January 2021.

Craig released the following statement on the outcome of the court case:

“My opponent’s effort to delay the upcoming election would have left the hardworking families of Minnesota’s Second Congressional District without a voice in Washington at a time when critical legislation affecting our communities was being debated in Congress. I am grateful for the court’s ruling this morning, which ensures that will not be the case. Since the day I was sworn in, I’ve worked tirelessly to represent the values and interests of my constituents in Congress – and I look forward to continuing to do so next January. The courts have spoken – now it is time for the people of Minnesota’s Second Congressional District to decide.”
