Kistner called himself “100% pro-life” and pledged his support for pro-life laws and policies, even those without exceptions for rape or incest

GOP Senator Graham: “If we take back the House and the Senate, I can assure you we’ll have a vote on our bill.”

Burnsville, MN –– Today, Republicans introduced a national abortion ban.

Last week, Axios Twin Cities uncovered a pledge made by GOP candidate Tyler Kistner to support legislation that will further restrict abortion access nationwide should he be elected to Congress. Kistner has also pledged to support all anti-choice policy that is already in effect the day he is elected — including existing state bans with no exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother.

The bill bans most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy and criminalizes doctors who provide abortion care in all 50 states, including Minnesota.

During a press conference announcing the Senate bill, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said, “If we take back the House and the Senate, I can assure you we’ll have a vote on our bill. If the Democrats are in charge, I don’t know if we’ll ever have a vote on our bill.”

“The national abortion ban introduced today will put women’s lives at risk and send doctors to jail for providing medical care. This legislation is dangerously out-of-step with the American people, and Tyler Kistner has pledged to support additional abortion restrictions if he is elected. We must do everything in our power to keep him out of Congress,” said Rep. Angie Craig
